Become Your Own Tea Master

June 15, 2004 -- Royal Dynasty Tea, based in La Jolla, California, announced today the introduction of two experiential tea courses: Tea Mastery for New Tea Drinkers and Tea Mastery for Sophisticated Tea Drinkers. “With the tea market rapidly expanding in North America, there is great interest in acquiring experiences for enhancing one's knowledge and tastes of the various types of available tea,” according to Chas Kroll, tea master and managing director of the company.
   
Tea Mastery for New Tea Drinkers is a 12-month program. On the first of each month, registrants receive a lesson plan, along with three selected teas (1/2 oz. each yielding six 6-oz. cups) based on the topic for that month. The lesson plan includes the history and background of each tea, preparation instructions, and a recommended tasting protocol to follow.

The program’s twelve monthly departments are: Japanese Green Teas, Chinese Green Teas, Green Teas From Other Countries, Oolong Teas, English Black Teas, Chinese Black Teas, Indian Black Teas, Black Teas From Other Countries, White Teas, South African Teas, Flavored Teas, and Herbal Teas/Tisanes.

Tea Mastery for Sophisticated Tea Drinkers is a 6-month course. It is designed for the discerning palate of the tea aficionado, as well as those who aspire to become a true connoisseur. Participants receive a lesson plan on the first of each month, along with three rare and sought-after teas of impeccable quality (1/2 oz. each yielding six 6-oz. cups) based on the topic for that month.

Registrants get to sample and taste Japanese Green Teas like Sencha Yame Hoshino, Chinese Green Teas like Imperial Green, Oolong Teas like Vintage Rare South India Chamraj, Chinese Black Teas like Keemun Hao Ya A, Indian Black Teas like Organic Darjeeling 1st Flush, and White Teas like Adam's Peak.

“Registrants may participate individually or form a small group of up to six friends for either course. There will be enough tea for everyone,” according to Kroll.

Tuition for the complete 12-month Tea Mastery for New Tea Drinkers course is $120.00 or individual monthly class sessions are $15.00 each. Tuition for the complete 6-month Tea Mastery for Sophisticated Tea Drinkers course is $360.00 or $75.00 per individual module (the Chinese Green Tea module is $120.00).
   
Although classes officially begin July 1st, registrants may start at any time Those completing either program will receive a Certificate of Completion.
